How to Use Affirmations and Meditation

Affirmations are words and thoughts you put out into the universe to manifest your hearts desires. When stating your affirmations it is important to believe you already have them, using statements like “I am” or “I have” rather than “I will” or “One day”.

By believing what you want or need is something you already have you begin to picture yourself with it in your mind. The mind is an extremely potent tool. If you can create it in your mind, the universe corresponds it powerful ways.Affirmations and Meditation | Yoga Savvy

When ever I am writing out my affirmations I usually burn sage or palo sato to clear the space of negative energy and ensure my intentions are pure before beginning in my note book. I write enough affirmations to fill the page then on the other side I write out everything I have to feel grateful for. Gratitude is a very important part of manifesting all that you need, not only are you coming from a place of love but you are thanking the universe (god, creator, the divine) for the blessing you have manifested in the past. This is important to keep these affirmations in the present as well as create a great mindset for the start of the day or before drifting off to sleep.

Your affirmations can be anything, but I usually try to cover the following topics; love, family, friends, health, travel, and career. By creating your own topics it helps to remember all of the areas important in your life and as you do you will begin to get ideas for other important affirmations…Affirmations and Meditation | Yoga Savvy

After completing your affirmations, is a great time for a loving kindness meditation. This is a mediation based around love, peace, and gratitude.

  • Sit comfortably and close your eyes

  • Bring someone to mind that always makes you genuinely happy

  • Try to think of a non-complicated relationship, this can be with a friend, child, or even a pet.

  • Once that being comes to mind, try to feel what your body feels, maybe a warm sensation or tingling, this is the feeling of loving kindness

  • Try to expand this feeling throughout the entire bodyAffirmations and Meditation | Yoga Savvy

  • If the mind starts to wonder bring your awareness back to your breath and begin the mantra Om Shanti Shanti Shanti, or Thank you Thank you I love you I love you which ever resonates more.

  • Begin to breath even deeper than before making your exhales last double the length of your inhale

  • When you are ready slowly open your eyes and read your affirmations out loud to affirm all that you would like to manifest into your life.

Be patient. This is not a wish list so some of your desires may take action on your part, what is important is to always trust your journey, all is divine.
